Lion Jim Watkins (#54) won the Tail Twister’s pot on the first drawing.

Our attendance was 16 members plus 1 guest.  We have several members missing our meetings lately.  Even though we are kind of in limbo right now as to our meeting place, we have had excellent programs and good fellowship with those members attending.  Let’s try and have our missing Lions back in our den next week.

Remember Lion Pat Snodgrass as he goes in the hospital today for a heart valve stint.  Let’s pray he has a quick recovery.

Next Monday, October 12, is a flag day for Columbus Day.  We didn’t have a flag route sign-up sheet at the meeting so each member who ordinarily work a particular route, do so next Monday.

Did you notice the new door on the flag barn?  Lions Pat and Bill Levins did a great job installing the new door.  Hope vandals leave it alone.

Our program this week was given by Sherri Carter on the Miracle Rodeo.  Sherri is needing many workers to help put on the Miracle Rodeo.  This is the 11th Miracle Rodeo sponsored by the Craighead County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol and Sherri (chairperson) has been involved since its inception.  She needs volunteers to work Friday, October 23, at the Fairgrounds about 6:00 PM to help set up the tables and activity areas.  Then on Saturday volunteers are needed from 11:30AM to approximately 4:00 PM.  This is a most worth while event for the approximate 150 students who are special needs students.  Call Sherri at Carter’s Corner at 932-9538 or her cell phone at 243-7433.

Scheduled programs:

October 13  Jim Bryant – New software for judges used in the court system for Craighead County in order to save money

            October 20 Business meeting –

October 27  Beth Foreman – Home Health Professionals – have many services in order to  take care of people in their own homes, as well as,  Hopice services – will tell what they do and how a family member or friend can go about obtaining these services.

Our Board of Directors meeting will be at Couch’s Restaurant on Thursday, October 15 at 6:30 AM.

Our meeting place will continue to be at Front Page until further notice.
