Lion President Randy Dent (#23) was the winner of the Tail Twisterís pot on the first drawing.  Our attendance was 18 members plus 2 guests.  Mr. Don James was a guest of Lion Brad Baker and David Redmon, Jr., was a guest of his father, Lion Dave Redmon.


Thanks to all those members who worked flag routes Monday for Columbus Day.


This week end is the 7-0 District Convention to be held at the St. Bernards Auditorium.  A hospitality hour and reception for International Director Haynes H Townsend, from Georgia, who will be the featured speaker at the convention, will be at the Comfort Suites at 2911 Gilmore Dr. starting at 5:00 PM.  Registration will begin Saturday at 8:30 AM at St. Bernards Auditorium.  Letís have a good turnout for our District Governor Johnny Rye and International Director Townsend.  The club will pay for the registration fee for all members attending the convention.


NEW CLUB DEN  Beginning next Tuesday, our club will meet at Annís Restaurant located at 2005 Highland Dr. in Fountain Square at 6:30AM.  The Lion Tamers will set up the room at 6:00 AM.


JONESBORO LIONS TV AUCTION  There will be an Auction Committee meeting next Tuesday, October 20 @ 7:00 PM at the Forest Home Church of the Nazarene.  The Auction will be Saturday, December 5, on SuddenLink Channel 26.  We need to start getting auction items now.  We will also sell Boston Butts @ $25.00 each.  Get your orders in for the Boston Butts.  We want to sell 90 butts this year, which would give a profit of $1,350.  Sponsorships also need to be sold @ $100 or $500 each.


Lion Bill Dickens will have the pecans to sell soon.


Lion Charles Hartwig and the Peace Poster Contest Committee is working to get the local schools to participate in this project.  The deadline for presenting the winners to the District Governor is November 7.


The Flag Committee is going to place 24 flags on Main Street, Friday and Saturday, November 6 & 7 to acknowledge the deployment of the 875th Engineering Battalion on Saturday.


We will also fly the flags on November 11 for Veterans Day.


Our program this week did not show and Lion Tony Bari spoke about Flu Vaccine.  Next week is our regular monthly business meeting.

Remember the Miracle Rodeo on Saturday, October 24 @ 10:00AM to approximately 4:00 PM at the Craighead County Fairgrounds.  (Work party, Friday night, October 23rd at the fairgrounds at 6:30 PM).
