Lion Leon Lee (#11) was the
winner of the Tail Twister’s pot on the first drawing.
Attendance was 26 members without any guests.
This was our regular
monthly business meeting with the Secretary reading the
minutes of the October 12 board meeting and our Treasurer
giving the financial report which showed a bank balance of
$7,625.29 with $4,469.86 in the Operating Fund and $3,155.43
in the Activity Fund.
PDG Pat Snodgrass installed
our new member Lion Larry Hinck into the club. Lion Bobby
Wood received a free dinner for two from the Membership
Committee for sponsoring Lion Larry.
Lion Larry has been
assigned to the Sight and Hearing Committee. Other committee
assignments made by the President are Lion James Park to the
Public Relations/Peace Poster Committee and Lion Ed Larson
to the Flag Project Committee.
It was good to see Lion Jim
McAlister back in our den after being gone to Michigan since
Lion Ron Erwin advised our
White Cane Day has been set for November 2 & 3 at the Wal
Mart Store on Highland. Sign up sheet will be at next
This Saturday, October 21,
is the date of our Dyeann’s House Fundraiser at the
Jonesboro Country Club starting at 6:00 PM with dinner
served at 6:45. Entertainment will be furnished by vocalist
Barbara Gay. Lion Ken showed a new video of Dyeann’s House
which can be used to show to organizations wishing to have a
program about Dyeann’s House. It is very good.
The Auction Committee will
meet at the Forest Home Church of the Nazarene on Monday,
October 30 at 7:00 PM. Much work needs to be done with the
date of December 9 only 7 weeks away.
Remember the District 7-0
Convention on November 11 at Harding University in Searcy.
