Lion Bill Levins (#39) worked his magic and won the pot on the first draw.

Lion Brad tailtwisted and sang, Albert pledged and Bill Levins prayed.

Only 16 members were present.  We had three guests – Nathan Bartrow was a guest of Tony Bari,  Miss Jillian Russell, Miss Craighead County Rice, and her mother Rhonda were guests of Eric Grant.  It was great to have Lion Mark Poe back at the meeting.

The signup sheet for our next two flag days was passed around.  We will put out flags on Election Day, Nov. 4 and Veterans Day Nov. 11.  Since these are our meeting days and a work day (for most of us) it will be a challenge, but we are Lions and we will “Get R Done” somehow.

Miss Jillian Russell, Miss Craighead County Rice, passed out samples of her rice dish and gave a short program on rice and the details of the Miss Craighead County and Miss Arkansas Rice contest.

This was our regular monthly business meeting.  Pat read the minutes of the board meeting.  Highlights included the approval of sponsoring two individuals at the Food Bank, the withdrawal of Lions Brad nomination to be VDG, and discussion of the Valley View Leo’s Club scholarship.  Lion Treasurer Tommy gave the financial report.  Our Activity Fund balance is $6,549.64 and the Operating Fund balance is $4,802.15.

There will be an Auction Committee meeting next Monday, Oct. 27 at 6:30 at the Forrest Home Church of the Nazarene.  All committee members need to attend and all club members are welcome.

With Lion Don Vinyard in Member at Large status, Lion Tamers Eric Grant and Jim Mashburn could use some help setting up and putting away things for our meetings.

Our District Governor John Blackley will make his official visit to our club on October 28.  Lion Charles Hartwig will be our program chairman during the month of November.
