The next auction meeting will be on November 8. Details to follow. Auction item receipts slips were handed out to all present. Itís time now to start getting sponsors for our Lions Auction and items to be auctioned. Please donít wait until the last minute or week to make your contacts for sponsorships and items. Our speaker this week was Michael Yates, the Jonesboro Chief of Police. He was introduced by Lion Ron Erwin. Chief Yates talked about his background in law enforcement and his favorable impression of Jonesboro. He has switched the department to 10 hour shifts so that there are two shifts on duty during the highest crime times. He has also increased patrols in areas where the most calls come from.

Since Lion Jim Mashburn will be "climbing the Alps" for the next two weeks, please give Albert Frankenberger information on items you want included in the newsletter. Copies of the newsletter cover with the committee assignments listed are available by the badge box. Contact President Bill if you were left off or wish to serve on additional committees.
