Lion Charles Hartwig (#51) won the Tail Twister’s pot on the first drawing.  Attendance was 15 members and no guests.

There will be an Auction Committee meeting next Tuesday, November 3 at 7:00 PM, at Forest Home Church of the Nazarene.  All Auction Committee members need to attend.  Our Lions Club Auction is only 5 weeks away on December 5.  We need items to auction and sponsors.  Also, sell those Boston Butts.  Let’s have a successful auction.  All three Jonesboro Lions Clubs, plus the Leo Club members, will be working together on this project.

Lion Vern passed out flag subscription invoices to be collected that were due October 1.  Our next Flag day will be November 11 for Veterans Day.  We also are planning to fly 24 flags on Main Street on Saturday, November 7, to give the 875th a proper send off for their deployment.

Sherri Carter advised the Miracle Rodeo was a great success with 172 special needs children participating and 200 volunteers helping to put on the rodeo.

Our program speaker this week was Beth Foreman talking about Hospice Care of NEA and Home Health Care and Hospice Services.  Hospice Care of NEA provides services in 5 counties in North East Arkansas and 2 counties of the Missouri Bootheel.

Lion Charles Hartwig has the following programs lined up for November:

November   3 – Sally Broadaway and Dr. Jeff Graham, President and Vice President respectively of the North East Arkansas Biking Coalition (NEABC), who will speak about the Greenway Project in Jonesboro.

November  10 – ASU Singers, with Dr. Dale Miller

November  17 – Business Meeting

November  24 – Alan Decker of the ASU Delta Center for Economic Development, who will speak about the opportunities and programs offered by the Delta Center, including those made possible by their new building.

You members who have not attended our breakfast meeting since we moved to Ann’s are missing great food and fellowship.
