Lion Brad Carson (#44) was
absent and Lion Bill Levins (#39) won the Tail Twister’s pot on the
second drawing. Attendance was 26 members plus 1 guest. Other than
the speaker there were no guests. In the absence of our Intrepid
Song Leader Lion Don Vineyard our singing was led by Lion Tony Bari.
Someone said that Lion Don was working the election polls making
sure all his Republican friends got to vote.
Lion Charles Hartwig advises the
peace posters are now ready to be judged. If you have any experience
in art judging call Lion Charles.
Lion Ken Helman advises we have
40 or more reservations for the Christmas party on December 114th
at the Imperial Dinner Theater in Pocahontas. This will be a dinner
followed by a stage play of the Wizard of Oz. If you have not
made your reservations see Lion Ken.
This is our Auction week and
every member needs to get involved. We are still needing items,
items, items for the auction and they are easy to get all you have
to do is take a couple of hours and call on your business friends
for contributions. Bring all the items to Lion Albert
Frankenberger’s office or call Lion Brad Baker and he will pick them
up. We can use more gas and grocery store items plus restaurants
meals. Some of the tire and auto service stores have not been
contacted. We will also be selling Boston Butts for $25.00 cooked on
the spot at Cox Community Cable. Most of all we need workers on
Saturday, If you have not signed the duty roster please come by the
studio and work Saturday for a couple of hours. The phone number for

Our speaker this week was Mayor
Hubert Brodell. Mayor Brodell received two standing ovations of
appreciation from the club for his 18 years of service to the City
of Jonesboro. Mayor Brodell talked about the major accomplishments
for the City of Jonesboro since 1987, the first being the major
annexation of property brought into the city limits and utility,
streets and drainage expansions. Mayor Brodell also stated that a
surplus of more than $29,000,000 will be left in the City Coffers at
the end of this year.
