Lion Jim Hall (#19) was
absent and Lion Tail Twister Brad Baker won the pot on the
second drawing. We had no guests and attendance was 24
We had a rain out for
displaying the flags on election day but, weather permitting
we will fly the flags on Saturday, November 11, for Veterans
Day. Lion Beau Honeycutt will advise us via e-mail as to who
is working each route and if there are routes that are not
The Peace Poster Contest
this year was a great success. There were 250 entries from
Nettleton Middle School and 175 entries from Fox Meadow
School plus 1 entry from the Girl Scouts. The winners were
Daniel Anceno, 1st Place, Jacob Carter, 2nd
Place and Zack Collins, 3rd Place from Nettleton.
The winners from Fox Meadow were Claire Case, 1st
Place, Sylvia Hardin, 2nd Place and Kirby Banks,
3rd Place. Meg Brown was honorable mention from
the Girl Scouts. First Place winners received $50.00, 2nd
Place received $25.00 and 3rd Place received
$15.00. The two 1st Place entries will be
delivered to the District Governor this Saturday for judging
for the state contest.
The 2006 University Heights
Lions Club Scholarship recipient is Boyd Mullins, a Junior
at ASU. He will receive $1,000 from our club.
The next meeting of the
Auction Committee will be Monday, November 20th,
@ 7:00PM, @ Forest Home Church of the Nazerene. Auction
items and $100 sponsorships are needed. Items can be brought
to the meetings or delivered to Lion Albert Frankenberger’s
office at 1500 E Washington. The TV Auction will be on
Saturday, December 9th.
Our program this week was
given by Dr. William McLean, Professor of Political Science
at ASU. His election analysis and predictions were 100%
correct. With the exception of the 3rd
Congressional District, the Democrats sweeped the state.
