Our #1 Lion, Dale McKinney, was the winner of the Tail Twister’s pot on the first drawing. Attendance was 24 members and no guests.

Congratulations to Lion Marcy Harrell on completing 45 years of service to Lionism. Lion Marcy was awarded the 45 year Old Monarch Award issued by the President of Lions International, Clement F. Kusiak.

There will not be a breakfast meeting next week as that is the date of our annual Christmas party which will be in Pocahontas at the Imperial Dinner Theater. The dinner will be served at 6:30 PM followed by the production of The Wizard of Oz at 7:30. The location of the Imperial Dinner Theater in Pocahontas is on Hwy. 304 East, across from the Black River Technical College. Try to car pool with another couple. The dress will be casual.

The Board of Directors meeting will be Thursday, December 16^th, at Couch’s Restaurant at 6:30AM. Any member is welcome to attend the board meetings. All officers are urged to attend.

Correction to the newsletter dated November 30: Art Teacher Laura Kessinger is indeed the Art teacher at NIC and Fox Meadow IC, but she was not the judge of the contests. Our local contest was judged by Dr. Charlotte Jones, who has an art school on Main St., downtown.

Our program this week was given by Dr. Kristine Biondolillo, Professor of Psychology at ASU. Dr. Biondolillo talked about the new Arkansas Bio Science Institute at ASU, which is 1 of 5 bio science research centers which came about from the state tobacco settlements. She also suggested that our club may want to have a tour of the Bio Science Center, which she could arrange. The mission of the center is to support good science and outreach research programs by students and faculty.

Brother Bruce Tippit, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, will be our speaker on December 21^st.
