Every member who attended the
Christmas party Tuesday night at the Imperial Dinner Theater in
Pocahontas said it was really enjoyable, the food was good and the
Wizard of Oz show was great. The best ladies night our club has had
recently. Thanks to Lion Ken Helman for arranging the event. We had 48
members and guests in attendance.
Next Tuesday our program will be
Brother Bruce Tippit, Pastor of the First Baptist Church bringing his
annual Christmas message to our club.
The club will
meet on December 28, the Program Committee will advise next week who
will be our speaker.
We still have two or more cases of
pecans to sell, mostly chocolate covered. Lets wrap up this project
before the year ends. Contact Lion Bill Dickens for pecan sales.
The Board of Directors met Thursday
morning at Couch’s Restaurant. The Treasurer’s report gave a bank
balance of $7,938.96 with $5,653.04 in the Activity Fund and $2,285.92
in the Operating Fund. It was discussed to have a White Cane Day on
Friday and Saturday, February 4th and 5th. This
will be referred to the club at our next business meeting. Wal-Mart has
imposed certain restrictions as to the hours we can collect and
locations of the solicitors. In order to meet our budget for White Cane
it has been suggested we have three collections per year.
Best Wishes for a Joyous Holiday
Season and a Happy New Year!
